I’ve really liked the expansions of the Sims 3 as compared to Sims 2. They’ve been “getting it right”. Especially now that we have Seasons again.
That’s right. University returns.
Looks like it basically is a full copy of the original. What makes me curious is how this is going to work.
We already have a “young adult” life phase, so will your teens, when they move on, become students and be required to move out or can they stay a part of your active household but be also located at some special sub-neighborhood?
My largest issue with Sims 3 has always been that you can’t have easy multiple households that you play in a neighborhood. The easy way around it is to copy the neighborhoods and let them each evolve on their own with a single active household… but now that we’ll be adding Uni how will that work?
My fear is we’ll have to move the teens out and choose who to follow to college… letting the lives of the families we leave behind run their own course.
Those of you who are veterans to The Sims can understand why that makes me nervous (for those that aren’t… these little sims aren’t always very bright.)
We’ll wait and see, but the announcement, regardless of implementation, is something that does make me excited. Especially when you consider mixing in the 70s, 80s, 90s stuff pack to really give you the genuine flashback of youth.
The coolest part about this announcement is that I had just the other day been discussing Sims with Redflare and we were wondering what would be next now that we had Seasons. The series seemed complete… especially for her since she isn’t overly interested in Uni. Now I feel like it will be for me.
