Kale Surprise

Last year we planted kale, and when we went out to start our garden this year we were greeted with this happy little kale plant growing at the base of an old plant.

It donated some leaves to a wonderful cheese chowder Redflare made.

Definitely something I’ll want to see again.

Raw kale? Not that great. Cooked and in a soup? Wonderful. Cooking it helps remove the weird aftertaste.
