An Anniversary

Like Back to the Future Day, where ever day from here on out puts every event in that movie series in the past for us today marks the turning point in when we lost Dad.

I was 17 at the time. I’m now 34. After today I’ll have had him not in my life longer than I’ve had him in my life.

A lot has changed in 17 years.

Kale Surprise

Last year we planted kale, and when we went out to start our garden this year we were greeted with this happy little kale plant growing at the base of an old plant.

It donated some leaves to a wonderful cheese chowder Redflare made.

Definitely something I’ll want to see again.

Raw kale? Not that great. Cooked and in a soup? Wonderful. Cooking it helps remove the weird aftertaste.
