While visiting there was very much a lack of air conditioning, so taking refuge near water was helpful for Redflare to stave off heat exhaustion.
There was a creek they literally went and sat in.
The creek visiting was probably her favorite part of the trip. Forgetting the outside world and doing something that maybe they’d have done as kids had they been able to grow up together.
And then when this close to the Missouri river, one can’t resist but taking a picture of it, right?
Don’t mind us, just a quick picture of Edison, being a cute little grey kitten.
Reuniting is definately the theme of this trip after the original plan for it went pear shaped. (Why is that even a saying?)
Perhaps some closeups with brothers…
Even some old friends.
When life throws a monkey wrench at the plans, time to adjust to them and take advantage of the situation.
Redflare had to head south this Summer (part of the reason why not a lot of pictures got processed for a bit).
The reason now doesn’t matter too much, but there was a bonus to it in finally getting to meet some newfound family members in person.
Like our nephew.
He’s amazingly about Little Miss’ age. The first of a gaggle of sudden new relations.
And the “old man” there? Her big brother that she’d been looking for… for a really long time.
Well, you can tell the school year started because Redflare has been too busy to prep more pictures for me!
I think this is a first, and I’m not sure I like it or not. :p
Don’t worry. We’ll be back, once we have some more pictures.
Yes, you read that title correctly.
Thunderer also started school this year.
Still school though.
She was very excited to be going.
The littles were sure to surround her and cuddle her extra at the bus stop.
Now, just because they were ready to go…
Doesn’t mean they weren’t thrilled to be home at the end of the day.
It’s good to be home.
School has certainly started again.
But they’ve adjusted well.
They were ready to go back.
It was hard for Thunderer to not photobomb them while these solo pictures were being taken. Couldn’t really hold her back when it was time for the elementary schoolers’ group picture.
She also wanted to pose real quick with her doll.
And Newbie is now a second grader.
She’s still so tiny though!
A voracious reader, I’m not sure how they’re going to keep her in enough books to be satisfied. Guess we’ll see.
