The kids were amazing that day, absolutely amazing. They knew just as much as anybody else that the day marked a milestone for us all.
And boy were they proud, squealing ‘Daddy!’ and charging for me from the front row as I left the stage during the hooding ceremony. They couldn’t contain themselves any longer, having patiently watched me all the time I was standing in line to go on the stage.
